We just got a press release from Piaggio USA for a very aggressive Vespa online advertising campaign that begins May 1st. They have tons of cool things in the works like:

Vespa Lexington can’t wait to rock out to the Vespa stations on Pandora, I wonder what that Mod Vs. Rocker station will be playing? Vespa Lexington got a new shipment of Fulmer Bobber helmets in today. These Bobber helmets are a great looking, DOT approved, inexpensive, quality helmet that we have been selling the heck out of here lately. We got a very exciting call this afternoon from our SYM rep letting us know that our new SYM Symba’s AKA the “WO WOW” will be shipping out to Vespa Lexington on either Friday or Monday. We cannot wait (we have all three colors coming in, which you can check out below)! I actually just got done reading a great article on the Symba on Wired.com called “World’s Most Popular Motorcycle Returns to America“. The Symba is actually a new and improved version of the one time worlds best selling motorcycle the Honda Cub.

The weather has been fantastic in Kentucky this the past week. We have been slammed at Vespa Lexington every single day and we love it. We have been making lots of new friends and welcoming more and more scooterist to the growing Vespa Lexington family, a BIG THANKS to everyone! I am very excited for future cook-outs and rides with everyone.

We could not believe the amount of entries in our Vespa Swag Give-Away. We had a whopping 90 comments on that blog post. I guess thats what happens when include the words Vespa and Give-Away in the same sentence. What was even better, was that the comments were actually testimonials of people that love Vespa and why they love their Vespa. If you don’t own one yet, read these comments to see what the hype is all about here. We got to give a big shout out and thanks to Bryan over at 2Strokebuzz for plugging the give-away on his site. I am sure 89 or the 90 comments came from 2Strokebuzz.com readers. Thanks Bryan!
Sine we had so many freaking comments we decided to give both a first and second place prize. We documented the drawing via a Youtube video which can be seen below. The first place prize goes to Amanda. Amanda wins the Vespa flag, a hat, some Vespa stickers, a Piaggio key lanyard, and a Vespa keychain. Congrats Amanda! If you follow our blog, or have visited Vespa Lexington then you know we are big fans of the rich history behind the Vespa scooter. With it’s iconic name, high quality, classic styling, and it’s FUN factor, the Vespa has been uniting scooterist around the world for years through Vespa clubs, Vespa Rallies, Vespa forums, and common interests. The Vespa has literally had a cult following for years and years. I cannot tell you how many new friends we have made from opening Vespa Lexington, just through the mutual love of riding scooters. It is insane!
Getting back on track, all of this talk of Vespa mania came to me when I found all of these really cool vintage Vespa club badges and pennants this guy in Los Angeles is selling on EBAY. These vintage badges and pennants all come from the 50’s and 60’s, and represent various Vespa clubs throughout Europe. I should have posted this earlier because time is running out on to snatch these up, so if you interested in owning a few pieces of vintage Vespa mania you better hurry up and bid. These badges and pennants would look just as good as an office or home decoration as they would on a older Vespa. Here is the background story:
“I am auctioning off my father’s collection of authentic vintage Vespa Club badges and pennants. These are not badges that you wear, these badges are meant to go on the front part of a Vespa, much like car badges that go on the front grille. My father was very active in his local Vespa Club in Northern France in the 1950’s and 1960’s. He was instrumental in bringing a European Vespa Meet to his native city of Lille. He collected badges and pennants from other Vespa Clubs around the world.”

We got to be here at 5:30 AM, which is not too cool since it takes Michael four hours to get ready in the morning. I think the show runs from 6 am to 7 am, so if your up make sure and check it out. Michael ran across a link to the Vespa Vintage catalog today, that contains original Vespa accessories and spare parts. After browsing the online catalog, we fell in love with these white cotton Vespa/Piaggio coveralls, you can check em out below. We have actually been in hot pursuit of some coveralls, so these authentic Piaggio ones would be perfect! We have already sent an email to our parts manager, so we shall see. The catalog is in Italian so they might be unattainable here in the Unites States. I guess if we can’t get em from Piaggio we can always make our own. Check out the Vespa Vintage catalog here.
