Thursday Night Ride Cancelled, Bungalow Tour This Sunday

We are sorry to announce it, but the Thursday Night Ride scheduled for tonight has been cancelled to do nasty rainy weather. We are really bummed out, the last get together was so much fun. We will try and get a fun ride put together next week, and will keep you posted on time and date. We are also working on planning another cook-out during the month of June, possibly the third Saturday in June. If it all goes down, I will be on hand serving up my award winning burgers to all you hungry scooter junkies out there.

If your looking for something fun to do this Sunday, we highly recommend riding down to the Kenwick Bungalow Tour. Vespa Lexington is a sponsor and my home is on the tour (I actually have another house on Richmond Ave for sale, know anyone looking to live the American Dream?). Tickets are only $5, get some exercise walking the neighborhood, and take a look inside some really cool older bungalows. I have been the last two years, it’s a lot of fun. We would love to see a boatload of scooters lining the streets of Kenwick.
For additional information please follow this link: Kenwick Bungalow Tours.

Looking to buy a new scooter? Noticing the price of gas creeping up? It’s a great time to buy a new Vespa, Piaggio, or SYM scooter and you won’t find a better selection of 50cc-500cc scooters in the state of Kentucky. Stop by Vespa Lexington for a test ride this weekend.

Great article on the SYM Symba on Scootin’ Old School!

One of favorite scootering blogs, Scootin’ Old School wrote a wonderful review of the new SYM Symba a few weeks back that is definitely worth a read if you’re considering purchasing a new Symba (which you should be). Both Michael and I have ridden the new Symba quite a bit and are in love with this scooter. Everything about the Symba is a blast, the ride, the styling, the semi-automatic transmission, and the fact that it can get up to 153 miles per gallon @ 25 miles per hour. With a top speed of 56 miles per hour, the new Symba will take you pretty much anywhere you wanna go in Lexington and beyond. Check out a couple highlights from the Scootin’ Old School review:

“I showed a picture of the Symba to a barista at the coffee shop where I write these posts. Her reaction: “Whoa, that’s TIGHT! I am so getting one of those!””

“the Symba is one very nice piece of work. As you can see from the picture above, the bike’s guts are neat and tidy. The frame has a paint job that looks a quarter-inch thick, the stitching on the seat is BMW-perfect. The tires are grippy, and totally unfazed by streetcar tracks (didn’t do bridge grate, sorry). It’s made of parts that have been intensely developed over 50 years, so they don’t make the Symba like they used to… they make it much, much better.”

“In fact, this bike will make you smile with its “surprise and delight” factor.” (It will, It will!)

“I was grinning so hard my cheeks hurt. The SYM Symba is a thoroughly lovable basic transportation tool that you could probably pass on to your grandchildren. Definitely consider making room in your toolbox…”

You can read the entire review here.

SYM Symba 101.4 cc, 4-Stroke / forced air, Single cylinder, Carb, 29.9 inch seat height, 209 pound dry weight, front brake- 130mm drum, rear brake-110mm drum, max speed 56mph, 153 mpg @ 25 mph, fuel capacity 1.08 tank, msrp: $2,598*

Choose from three color combinations; red/white, black/white, and baby blue/white which Vespa Lexington does have in stock, ready for delivery.

Thursday Night Ride to Stella’s Kentucky Deli – 6/4/2009

Calling all Kentucky 2-wheel junkies (scooters, mopeds, motorcycles old and new). Since everyone had so much fun on the last Thursday night scooter ride, and since there were a lot of folks that missed out (myself included) we have decided to put together another ride/dinner this coming Thursday night from Vespa Lexington through downtown and on over to Stella’s Kentucky Deli for dinner, drinks, and a free chocolate chunk bourbon brownie with the purchase of any of the tasty sandwich’s offered at Stella’s Kentucky Deli.

At the last ride, we had a total of 19 scooters down at Stella’s. I would love to see about 30 scooters parked in front of Stella’s this time. In addition to hitting up Stella’s for dinner, just around the corner at Cheapside Park is Thursday Night Live. Everyone had a blast on the last ride, so if you got the time we would love to have you join us for a short RIDE & DINNER. Details are below:

Meet at Vespa Lexington (198 Moore Dr. Suite 102 Lex KY 40503) at 6:00-6:30

Short but fun ride downtown

Dinner at Stella’s Kentucky Deli around 7-7:15 (143 Jefferson Street Lexington, KY)

We also want to encourage you this coming Sunday to ride down and check out the Kenwick Bungalow Tour, more info on the blog to come.

Check out some of the pics that Mrs. Janet Cropper took from the last ride and make sure to click continue reading to view more.picture-2
