Looks like Saturday (7/18/09) is going to be a perfect day for a long ride
Our good buddies Mike and Fred have planned another action packed ride for all you Kentucky scooterist this coming Saturday, July 18. According to the weather, Saturday could end up offering some of the BEST weather of the summer, sunny and 77. If you don’t have any plans this weekend and looking for a nice long scenic Kentucky ride, you should definitely plan on joining in on this fun. Check the details below and plan on being there. Unfortunately we will be working at the shop that day, hopefully recruiting more scooterist if you know what I mean.

WHAT: LOCAL SCOOTER RIDE
WHEN: SATURDAY JULY 18
TIME: 10:00 A.M.
WEATHER : SUNNY and 77
MEET: STARBUCK’S PARKING LOT BOSTON ROAD
ITINERARY: Upon leaving Starbuck’s we will travel west on Man-O-War Blvd. through Keenland to Old Frankfort Pike. While riding to Midway, Kentucky we will have the opportunity to view many majestic horse farms. Continuing from Midway the group will travel on route 421 to Frankfort, Kentucky where we will enjoy viewing Frankfort’s historic district and Capitol. From Frankfort the group will travel highway 1659 along the Kentucky River to the Woodford Reserve Distillery. (Free lemonade and Bourbon Candy Samples are available at this stop!) The ride will return to Lexington on highway 1659 through Versailles, Kentucky and end up back at Starbuck’s on Boston Road in Lexington. Along the way there will be numerous opportunities to stop for shopping, food, restroom breaks and photo opportunities.

Would you need a bigger scooter for this, or can you do i on a good 50cc?

you would need at least a 150cc for this ride to achieve speeds of 55mph. i could be wrong so maybe email fred to be certain.

Bunch of us went to Portland Indiana’s 37th Meet this week. 6000+ motor bikes there! So, resting up the throttle’s and will miss this super Saturday ride in Lexington. Next one maybe!
