New Vespa T Shirts now available. Comment to WIN all three styles for FREE!
We were pretty excited yesterday when Vespa Lexington received two big boxes full of new t shirts. We are offering three different styles in size s-xxl, each with a super fresh print. They are a little roomier than our last batch of t shirts, so that should make some folks happy, and we are offering xxl now. The pricing is as follows:
1) Vespa Lex Shop Tee (heather gray w/ black Vespa Lex print): $13.50, s-xxl
2) Pacesetter Tee (Dark Gray w/ yellow Vespa racer print): $15.00, s-xxl
3) Coyboy ( silver w/ blue & green cowboy print): $15.00, s-xxl
*If you don’t live in Lexington, can’t swing by Vespa Lexington and would like a t shirt, please give us a ring at 859.523.8555 and we can take your order over the phone, it’s $6.75 for priority shipping.
With the success of our last give-away (we had a grand total of 96 comments), we thought it would be fun to do another give away with these awesome new t shirt. The game is simple; lets pretend you could go back in time, grab a brand new scooter of your choice, and then bring it forward to the present day with you. What scooter would you grab? Post the year, make, and model of the scooter in the comments below. Make sure to include your valid EMAIL ADRESS. Monday night (Monday July 27th) at 3:00 PM we will throw the names in a hat, and draw one winner who will get all three t shirts. Once we have selected a winner, we will shoot you an email to find out sizing and shipping address. Good luck to all! Photos below and more photos after the jump.

Love the Pacesetter T-Shirt!!
July 24th, 2009 at 12:56 am
I would grab a 1980 Vespa P200E, some spare cables, an extra tube and a couple of tools for the needed roadside fun.
While I am there I need a windscreen and some Stadium mirrors, about 12 would be a good start.

Bring back the Vespa as seen in the 1979 movie, Quadrophenia.
July 24th, 2009 at 1:33 am
Love, love, love the cowboy Tee. Especially since we have a horse as well as a Vespa. Any chance of getting a horse riding a Vespa? ha ha he he.
See you all soon. We’re back in town now.

the cowboy one looks like the seditionaries design. Google it.

I’d hop in my time machine and head back to 1953 and grab the Vespa 125 that Audrey Hepburn rode in the movie ‘Roman Holiday’. And I’d bring her back with me as she was in ‘53.

here is where the cowboy design came from:

The black and yellow is really nice, the pacesetter.

In 1960, at the tender age of 9, I would watch the teenagers down the street play on their scooters. 1957 thru 1959 GS150’s. They had so much fun and answered all my questions very patiently. Then off they would go to who knows where. that image and time is as clear in my memory as it was that same day. (BTW, not one of them wore a helmet and I saw two fall off their bike before their parents packed up and moved.)

Those are sweet! I especially like the grey and yellow one. WOOT!

Vespa 150 TAP (w/ a cannon and parachute), but you already knew that.

Love the cowboy shirt. As a scootering Texan in exile, it’d be just the thing!
I’d love a pristine late ’50s Maicoletta 250 or 275. Fast, solid, and the most beautiful handlebars and gauge cluster on any scooter, ever.

Not the rarest scooter or the most valuable, one I’d love to ride.
July 24th, 2009 at 3:57 am
I would go back to 2001 and grab a BMW C1
July 24th, 2009 at 4:12 am
1951 Cushman.
July 24th, 2009 at 4:15 am
I’d select the Allstate three speed scooter my dad bought from the Sears downtown Montreal back in 1971-72. He waited for the store to open and rushed in making a bee-line for the scooter and rode her home. It was a three speed twist grip shift with hand and foot pedal brakes. Awesome scooter and I used it to learn how to ride. Great memories.
July 24th, 2009 at 4:18 am
love the cowboy vespa shirt! i ride to work, and work for a western wear clothing company. i would totally wear that to work.
July 24th, 2009 at 4:44 am
I’ll be in with my checkbook now that I’ve made it back to this great weather!
Florida was hot and sticky. Lots of scooters though…
July 24th, 2009 at 5:01 am
I started riding in 1981 on the world’s most produced vehicle of all time, the Honda Cub/Passport. It’s still being made today in a number of countries, and Sym has now brought it back as the Symba.
July 24th, 2009 at 5:47 am
Another fan of the Pace Setter design, it’s got that Vespa zip feel. The Cowboy is pretty funny with the tough guy/smallie contrast – though most smallie riders I know can be pretty tough…
July 24th, 2009 at 5:47 am
You guys need to move to Charlotte! How bout I ride my vespa in nothing but that shirt! Do I win now???
July 24th, 2009 at 5:49 am
you would definitely WIN for riding a Vespa with just one of these shirts on.
July 24th, 2009 at 5:52 am
Cool tees – do all Vespas require a motorcycle license
July 24th, 2009 at 5:54 am
I would go back and get that Paperino from ‘45 or whenever, and also hang around and place a few bets. Why have a time machine if you aren’t going to make a few million lire?
July 24th, 2009 at 5:57 am
If there was a chance to go back in time, and one lived in the USA, then it would be beneficial to hit up their local Sears and Montgomery Ward store for the latest Allstate or Riverside offering. The PUCH twingle was offered as the Allstate motorcycle in the mid 60’s and Ward’s had the Benelli 250 single as their Riverside. Imagine having an Italian lightweight that costs only hundreds of dollars instead of the thousands they collect today. I am not even going into the BlueBadge Allstate or Lambretta Riversides, that is another story for another time.

Green cowboy on Green Vespa…I love it!!!

A Rally 200 from the mid 70’s. Red of course, its the fastest!

They’re all nice, but I like the cowboy on the scooter best since I live in the Wild West.
July 24th, 2009 at 9:01 am
I would go back in time to the year 2008 and buy a Portifino Green LXV, then immediatley approach myself in the year 2008 and kick him/myself square in the ghoulies for calling the ex-girlfiend one too many times begging for her hand back. Helloooo stalker!!!
July 24th, 2009 at 11:53 am
If I could go back in time & purchase any model Vespa I would try to get Piaggio to sell me the Vespa Siluro world record breaker, or have them build a copy of it. The Siluro has the sexist lines I have ever seen on any vehicle. All the shirts are cool but my favouite shirt is the pacesetter.

Any Vespa from 1977, the year of my birth. In orange!
July 24th, 2009 at 10:43 pm
I’m fed up with stupid drivers trying to kill me, so to get my own back I am going back in time and picking up a Vespa 150 TAP.
This was produced for the French Airborne Forces in the 1950’s and had its own 75mm Recoiless Rifle attached to it! From the page on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vespa_150_TAP): “Its mounted M20, a U.S.-made light anti-armor cannon, could be fired from the shoulder but still penetrate armour 100 mm thick. The recoil is counteracted by venting propellant gases out the rear of the weapon which eliminated the need for a mechanical recoil system or heavy mounts, which enabled the weapon to be fired within the Vespa frame. Due to the lack of recoil, the weapon could be fired effectively by experienced gun crews while the scooter was underway.”
Ha, Mr. Cager! Cut me off would you? Well here’s a 75mm rocket up your ass. Maybe you’ll see me next time! “Bazooka Vespa”, you are mine!
July 24th, 2009 at 11:26 pm
Love your post Karen!! Ditto to your entire comment!
July 25th, 2009 at 1:40 am
That would have to be a 70’s Vespa 180 Rally.
July 25th, 2009 at 1:42 am
Love the cowboy one…but for sheer graphic punch, the pacesetter is a great shirt.
July 25th, 2009 at 2:54 am
It’s a tough choice between the Vespa 150 TAP (It’s got a rifle attached to it!!) and the classic charisma of its brother the Hoffman 125. I’d paint it portifino green like my modern GTV. mmmm…
July 25th, 2009 at 4:33 am
A nice red Vespa 90 SS would be a fine ride — an carries a spare as well!

I delivered news papers in 1960 on a Vespa 125cc year 1957 .It was my business transportation for four years.Until I found indoor work at a car wash. I wanted to buy a new Vespa but the $375 was more than what I could afford . I waited forty eight years but recently bought a new LX150 I love my Vespas, then and now!
July 25th, 2009 at 4:49 am
nice of you to join in on the fun “RAT TAIL”! I liked that photo you posted.
July 25th, 2009 at 6:33 am
Awesome designs!
July 25th, 2009 at 10:39 am
How about a 1968 Vespa VLB? Really, I’m not particular as long as it’s a Vespa. I could totally picture Steev riding around on a TAP, though.
July 25th, 2009 at 11:40 am
Because you can never have too many Vespa t-shirts…..
July 25th, 2009 at 9:17 pm
A white 1963 Vespa GS 160 series II
with lots of chrome and mirrors.
As a vegetarian, I’ll skip the tail though
“I ride a GS scooter with my hair cut neat, wear my wartime coat in the wind and sleet”
Nuff, said.

I would grab a Vespa PX200.I would love to be able to afford one now but not now anyway. The vespa PX was was the perfect blend of size and power, not to mention all metal.
July 27th, 2009 at 11:43 pm
I’ll echo the comments about the Pacesetter shirt. That is a great design. The offset printing is brilliant too, like they are racing around the person wearing the shirt.
Great selection of shirts.

1976 Vespa Primavera ET3.

All the designs a wicked but I’m loving the Pacesetter one the best.
Awesome t’s! Oh and props for the Run DMC figurines in the pics. LOL
July 28th, 2009 at 2:14 am
Wow. What a fun question! So many possibilties, so many fab scooters from the past! How could a person choose only one? I’ll be thinking about this all day – but here’s my quick answer:
Series 2 Lambretta TV 175 – super mod styley.
Failing that, a Baldet Cirq-en-ciel GS 160.
