Weekend Ride – Sunday August 30th
Our buddies Mike and Fred have put together another ride taking place on August 30th. The ride will leave out of Lexington and travel to Richmond. Check out the details below, also make sure to check out the short video and photo of the last ride everyone took from Vespa Lexington out to Midway. I think we had a total of 17 scooters on that ride. If you don’t have a scooter and want to join in on the fun, swing by Vespa Lexington this week and take advantage of all these awesome deals we got going on right now.
“On August the 30th there will be a Renactment of the Battle of Richmond at the battle site. We are planning to ride from Lexington to the battle site. We will gather at the Starbucks on Boston Road at 11:30 and depart at 12:00. On the ride we will cross the river via the Valley View Ferry (if it is in operation). To be able to ride you will have to be able to sustain 45 mph for extended times. Also on the return trip, after we cross the river there is substantial hill to climb. The trip will require at least a 150cc scooter. We recommend that you bring your camera.
NOTE: There is a $5.00 entrance fee. Reenactment Starts @ 2:00
Will Stop For Lunch In Richmond.
The Battle of Richmond, KY occurred August 29-30,1862. It was the most complete Confederate Victory of the American Civil War. The states of Indiana, Tennessee, Arkansas, Ohio, Texas, Kentucky,Georgia, Louisiana, Michigan and Florida all had soldiers who fought and died in the fields of Madison County, KY on those terrible days.”
thanks Carl for the video

Would anyone be interested in pullin the scooters down to Deals Gap for a spin on the tail of the dragon, maybe crash at the lodge, and head back the next day.

I’d leave the “crash” thing out. lol! Just kidding. Not really as much into the Tail after all the incidents over the past year down there. It’s kind of a gamble to either witness a crash or possibly be part of one.
