Vespa Lexington

We just got our first shipment of new 2010 Vespa and Piaggio scooters last week. One major change for the 2010 model year is that Vespa will not offer a GTS 250. The new 2010 GTS is actually a GTS 300ie, same engine found in the GTS 300 Super. The Vespa GTV will still be a 250cc. I am trying my best not to sound confusing, so long story short for 2010 Vespa will be offering (in their largest engine class) a GTS 300, a GTS 300 Super, and a GTV 250.

I spent a lot of time cruising around on a Vespa GTS 250 last summer, and I can attest that hands down you won’t find another scooter that offers a better ride. With the new 300’s you get the same incredible ride with a quicker acceleration. If you have not read the LA Times review of the 300 Super we posted earlier in the summer, you should check it out.

Vespa estimates the Super’s top speed is 80 mph. I took it up to 90 — the going rate of free-flowing traffic these days — to see if it could keep pace and it did. Without wheezing.
