Apparently Lexington Kentucky likes Vespa & Piaggio scooters! We just got an email from our Piaggio representative and the 2009 sales numbers for the Great Lakes Region (Vespa Lexington is included in this region) are in. Vespa Lexington ranked in the top five for both sales volume and for market share. I find this to be pretty amazing considering that 1) 2009 was pretty much our first full year in business and 2) the Lexington market is considerably smaller than some of our competitors (friends).

All I have to say is Thank You! Thanks to all of our wonderful customers and thanks to Lexington for having such great taste and embracing scootering as a FUN alternative form of transportation. I was excited to run across a great review of the Vespa S 150 in this months issue of GQ Magazine. I love the styling of the Vespa S 150. Unlike the classic round headlights on a Vespa, the S models have a rectangular headlight & mirrors that is similar to the styling of the Vespa scooters manufactured during the 70’s.

The best part about the article is how it begins:

Our good friends over at CD Central are having a huge all day party in celebration of Record Store Day this Saturday (April 17th). The party starts at 10 AM and goes till about 8 PM. In typical CD Central fashion there are all sorts of great things planned including; a store-wide SALE (Biggest sale of the year!), Pizza from Hardwood Pizza (remember our Holiday party), tons of live music all ( music starts at noon), and we (Vespa Lexington) will be in the mix offering test rides on Vespa scooters. *We will also be open at Vespa Lexington from 10-6 so swing by the shop if your wanting to browse or buy.
