“What makes Vespa a Vespa?”
There is only one Vespa scooter. After owning a scooter shop for sometime you quickly learn that some people think every scooter is a Vespa. Making scooters since 1946, Vespa has become the most iconic and well known scooter brand in the world. I read something yesterday that said there are more Vespa scooters on the roads worldwide than there are Harley Davidson motorcycles.
At first glance it’s pretty easy to distinguish what separates a Vespa from any other scooter on the market, you won’t find a more beautiful and design driven product. In addition to offering the most stylish scooter on the road, every Vespa is made in Italy and offers a steel monocoque frame giving the Vespa a unrivaled ride. Everything about the Vespa is top notch, they offer both the highest re-sale of any scooter on the market and the highest consumer report ratings of any scooter on the market. They are the Mack Daddies, the Ferrari of the scooter world (at a fraction of the price).
I ran across a video this morning called “What makes a Vespa a Vespa?” that offers a great side by side comparison between a Vespa and a Piaggio Fly 150. A couple of things I really took away from the video were; “Best engines in the scooter world”, and “most scooters have a shelve life for many years, a Vespa has a shelve life for many generations”. Check out the video below and thanks to Scooter Sales in Australia for making and sharing this video with us.
